Clinton — Leonard Lutrell Bass, 87, of 319 Underwood Street, passed away Thursday, Oct. 3, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, Oct. 7, at Grandview Memorial Garden. The family will receive friends Sunday, Oct. 6, from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home and at other times at the home of his son Darren at 288 Timberwood Estates Lane, Clinton.
Lutrell, born Jan. 1, 1937 in Sampson County, was the son of the late Leonard Bass and Betty Edwards Bass. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: wife, Leta Rose Walker Bass; son, Barry Bass; sisters, Agnes Bass Barefoot and Clarice Bass Carter; and brothers, Albert Bass and Edward Carroll Bass. Lutrell was a veteran of the US Air Force and a former insurance agent, carpenter and avid pool player.
Survivors include; son, Darren Bass and wife Phyllis Davis Bass; grandchildren, Olivia Bass, Gregory Bass, Karmen Bass and Azlynn Bass; and great-grandchildren, EvaRose Bass and AbelLee Bass.
