CLINTON — Lila Mae Raynor Hope, 81, of 6990 Garland Hwy., passed away Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loved ones.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 20, at Grandview Memorial Garden with Rev. Jimmy Flowers and Rev. Ray Carter officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19, at Crumpler-Honeycutt funeral home and at other times at the home.
Mrs. Lila was born May 6, 1944, in Duplin County to the late Luther Marvin Raynor and Ala Elizabeth Johnson Raynor. She farmed alongside her husband while loving her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and anyone else who was in need. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James Leonard Hope, daughter Shelia H. Coombs, great-grandchild Brantley Ray Hope and siblings Luther Gray Raynor, Marshall Raynor, Steve Raynor and Beck Ezzell.
Survivors include: sons, Michael Hope (Stephanie) and Bobby Hope (CC); special family member, Alan O'Neal; grandchildren, Dwayne Hope and wife Erica, Beth Johnson and husband Jason, Cody Coombs and Jamie, Dylan Hope and wife Megan, Ethan Hope and wife MacKenzie, Michaela Coombs and Jon-Austin, Alyson Royal and husband Taylor, Katelyn O'Neal and Skyler; 19 great-grandchildren; sisters, Nancy Boone and husband Melvin and Elizabeth Turner; and brother-in-law, Travis Ezzell.
