Linda Anne McArthur Parker, 86, of Clinton, died Wednesday, March 11, 2026, peacefully at home with her loving son Russell by her side.
"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres." — 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
Linda is best summarized by this scripture. Her life, through her last days, was real, full, and her character is fully expressed by those words above.
Linda Anne was born to Charles Dixon McArthur and Margaret McLamb McArthur on Aug. 28, 1939. Linda was born in Clinton, but soon her family moved to High Point, then to various locations in Florida amid war and better work opportunities for her father. Linda graduated from Cocoa High School in Cocoa, Florida in 1957. Later that summer, she met the love of her life, Oscar Lee Parker; they soon began courting while Linda visited her aunt Wixie. Oscar Lee and Linda Anne were married on Nov. 30, 1957. Together, Oscar Lee and Linda Anne had four daughters and two sons.
Linda lived her life as a homemaker and farmer, alongside Oscar Lee. Over the years, she taught Sunday school at Mt. Moriah United Methodist Church and was also on the softball team. She was a seamstress, artist, created and painted pottery, and enjoyed writing poetry. Most importantly, she was a devoted Christian, wife, mother and friend to all.
Surviving are her sons, Russell Parker and Beau Parker; her daughters, Tammy McPherson, Kimberly Breedlove, Karen Parker and Sherry Williams; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers, Doug McArthur and Ben McArthur.

Even after many decades and from very far away, I remember my older cousin´s gentleness. Linda Ann would ask a favor of me and add so sweetly,"Please! Pretty please with brown sugar on it."
No doubt the world will miss her. My sincere condolences to her family with love.

I spent several summers staying with my cousin, Linda Anne, OL, and her girls and loved every moment. The boys had not come along yet. I always wished I could have met them.
I learned what hard work was out on in the Parker farm fields. But Linda made every visit fun, as did Tammy, Kim, Sherry, and Karen. Linda was beautiful inside and out. My condolences to the family, especially to her children and to Douglas and Bennie.
Much love,

So sorry to lose a another cousin. Sending prayers from the Auman family.Linda was a very talented and artistic cousin. When I was a child, she gave me several outfits for my Barbie doll that were made better than if they had come fr Mattel and fit perfectly. Praying for the family during this difficult time.

At almost age 86, I still remember Linda and her brothers with love. Time and distance have
separated us as we were raising our own families. I live near my three children and 12 grandchildren plus 13 great grandchildren.
Linda and her brother were indeed poets at heart! God be with you till we meet again!

My sister, Linda, will be missed. She was generous and kind in every way. Linda chose her path in life and stayed true to the end. She often compared life to a "brief candle". You see she was a poet at heart. I cherish the thousands of memories living on for all who cared about her.
