Patricia "Miss Pat" Shipp
CLINTON — Patricia "Miss Pat" Dean Bass Shipp, 87, passed away Thursday, Feb. 2, 2023 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice.
Patricia, born Jan. 25, 1936 in Sampson County, was the daughter of the late Granville Talmadge Bass and Cuma Jackson Bass. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James "Frank" Franklin Shipp. She worked with Clinton City Schools as a teacher assistant. Patricia was an active member of Rowan Baptist Church and loved by all.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at Rowan Baptist Church with the Rev. Clay Carter and the Rev. Mike Shook officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service and at other times at the home of her daughter, Debbie, 305 Fairfax St., Clinton. Interment will follow the funeral service in the Clinton City Cemetery.
Survivors include her children, Frankie Shipp Stephenson and husband James of Willow Springs, Deborah "Debbie" Shipp Tyndall of Clinton and J.F. Shipp and wife Beth of Hampstead; grandchildren, Heather Stephenson Hargrave and husband Seth, Holly Oates Barker and husband Will, Trey Shipp and wife McKenzie and Will Shipp and friend Noel; great-grandchildren, Nathan, Madison and William Hargrave; sisters, Faye B. McCullen, Ann B. Starling, Kaye B. Bryan and Vicki B. Britt.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Rowan Baptist Church Building Fund, 701 Rowan Road, Clinton, NC 28328.

Miss Pat was always a classy lady. She seemed to never forget a friend. She will be sorely missed.
