CARROLLTON, Va. — Phyllis Ann Thornton, 75, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2016. A native of North Carolina, she had been a peninsula resident since 1970. Phyllis enjoyed cooking for her large family, sewing, and working in the family business, Thornton's Auto Repair, where she was the Secretary and Treasurer.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 44 years, Victor H. Thornton; her mother, Kathleen Cain of Clinton; three sons, Jeffrey Dean Fryar of Surf City, N.C., Jerry S. Fryar of Newport News, Va., and Jonathan E. Thornton of Newport News, Va.; three brothers, Joe, Coleman, and Chester; five sisters, Thelma, Judy, Cathy, Linda and Sherry; three grandchildren, Brittany, Jareko and Jace; and four great-grandchildren.
All services will be held at a later date in North Carolina.
