Richard "Ricky" Tanner
SALEMBURG — Mr. Richard Keith "Ricky" Tanner, 63, died Friday, April 13, 2018 at Rex Hospital.
He was born in Sampson County on Feb. 13, 1955 to the late James F. and Lillian Crowson Tanner.
Following in his father's footsteps, he worked as an electrical contractor, (Ricky Tanner Elec. Service). He loved boating, fishing and VW racing.
He is survived by his wife, Julie B. Tanner; son, Richard K. Tanner Jr.; sisters, Shirley T. Childress, Ann T. McLeod, Peggy M. Tanner and Elaine T. Larson; brothers, James M. Tanner and Jerry S. Tanner; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, J.R. Daughtry; and brothers, Johnny R. Tanner, Billy F. Tanner and Tommy J. Tanner.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 6:50 p.m. Thursday, April 19, at Butler Funeral Home, 401 W. Roseboro St., Roseboro, with the memorial service following at 7 p.m. with Wayne Thomas and the Rev. Brian Burgess officiating.

I am so sorry for the loss of such a wonderful friend. He was such a good husband and father. He will truly be missed by all that knew him. Prayers to all the family during this sad time but may we all meet again in the hands of God.
