Thomas "Buck" Henderson
Thomas Devon Henderson, Sr. "Buck", 88, of Clinton, NC, journeyed home to be with Jesus on August 15, 2022, after being adored by his wife, Lazetta Reynolds Henderson, of 71 years.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 17, at 2 p.m. at Grove Park Baptist Church with Rev. Cameron Dunn and Rev. Mike Shook officiating. Burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery. Visitation with family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1 p.m., at the church; and other times at his home.
He was born in Raleigh on July 23, 1934, and married his wife after a whirlwind courtship on March 23, 1951. Buck's loves, besides his beautiful wife and family, included driving nearly any vehicle, his church family at Grove Park Baptist Church, and the numerous nieces and nephews that kept him laughing and showered with love.
Buck was proceeded in death by his daughter, Belinda Gail, his parents Clarence "CM" and Lou Mitchell Henderson, his brother, Melvin Eugene Henderson and his sisters Myrtle Collins, Mary Loraine Faison, and Edna Earl McDuffie.
He is survived by his wife, Lazetta Reynolds Henderson; his three sons: Thomas Devon Henderson, Jr. and wife Lesia, Melvin Clifford Henderson and wife Robin, and Elvin Clement Henderson and wife Renee. He was blessed to have seven grandchildren: Jason Henderson and wife Ashley, April Escalera and husband Michael, Ashley Schwed and husband Andre, Collen Henderson, Kailey Anaya and husband Matthew, Madison Marshburn and husband Thad, and Allyson Henderson. Buck was also blessed with nine great-grandchildren: Ashton Godwin, Abby Henderson, Logan Henderson, Mia Escalera, Alysa Escalera, Oliver Schwed, Tobin Anaya, Arlo Schwed, and Lynnix Anaya.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Buck's name to the Brotherhood at Grove Park Baptist Church.
