Crockett was born on February 17, 1933, to Oscar and Gladys Ferrell in Whitesville. He attended Sherman High School and served his country in the US Army and was later deployed in the Korean War. He retired from CSX Railroad, after a career spanning nearly 44 years as a Locomotive Engineer.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, sisters Christine and Justine, daughter-in-law Kathy, and niece Candi. Left to celebrate his memory are his sons Ray and Denny; grandsons Paul, Alex, and Denny Jr. (Ashley); granddaughter Sylvia (Phillip); great-grandchildren David, Mia, Myla, Maverick, Audrina, Lilly, and Layla; brothers Jack, Harry, Frank (Ellen), and Dallas (Kay); sisters Nancy and Sharon (Moe); nieces Cindy and Kim; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Per Crockett's wishes, there will be no services. Family will gather at a later date to deliver him to his final resting place.

"What we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes part of us."

Crockett was a quiet and humble man. He worked hard and took care of everyone- and we will remember him with love.
