Norma Picard Obituary
She was a native of Holyoke, Mass., and grew up in Easthampton, Mass. She later moved with her family to Enfield, Conn., and then they later moved to Ellington, Conn., where she lived for 25 years. In 2001, she and her husband moved to Hinesville.
Norma is predeceased by her father, Norman Peloquin, who died when she was a young child, stepfather, George Vekakis, and aunt, Gertrude Pelchat.
Norma is survived by her beloved husband of 48 years, Daniel Picard; her mother, Esther Vekakis; three daughters, Melissa Gallagher and her husband Michael of Woodbine, Md., Kristen Picard-Wambolt and her husband Harry of Ellington, Conn., and Melanie Higley and her husband Joseph of Hinesville; and her pride and joy, her eight grandchildren, Kevin, John and Nathan Gallagher; Joseph and Deanna Wambolt; Breanne, Joshua and Ryan Higley.
Her memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at St. Stephen First Martyr Catholic Church in Hinesville. Father Adam Kasela will be officiating.
The funeral mass and burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at St. Luke Catholic Church in Ellington, Conn.

Kris and Family-there are no words adequately enough to say how deeply sorry I am for your loss. Just know I am here if ever you need a friend to talk to-your mom was a beautiful person and so positive. I will cherish the memories I have of times spent with her. Love Tammy
