Thomas Way Obituary

LUDOWICI – Thomas Patton "Tommy" Way Sr., 83, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2016, at his home under the care of family and Hospice of South Georgia.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Long County. He retired from Interstate Paper as an electrician after 34 years of service and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean conflict. He was an avid gardener who grew beautiful flowers, loved music and loved his cats. He was a member of Elim Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Way.
Survivors are his wife, Betty Milton Way of Ludowici; daughter, Lynn Sapp and Kenny of Screven; son, Thomas P. Way Jr. and Corilee Young of Jacksonville, Florida; sister, Lena Way of San Jose, California; brother, James Way of Cathedral City, California; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Thursday morning, Feb. 11, at the Howard Funeral Home chapel with military honors. Visitation was an hour prior to services at the funeral home.
Burial followed in the Elim Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Greg Middleton, Ricky Aspinwall, Speedy DeLoach, C.L. Chang, Manuel Sneed and Wallace Shaw.
Remembrances are suggested to Hospice of South Georgia, 1625 Sunset Blvd., Jesup, GA 31545.

Arrangements were under the direction of Howard Funeral Home of Ludowici.
