Our beloved mother Bobbie Jean Glover died at home Friday, January 7, 2022. Bobbie was born in Ottawa, Illinois on November 3, 1938. She was the adored wife of her late husband Ken Glover of 50 years as well as a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a member of the Auburn community for 41 years, with numerous friends that loved and supported her dearly. Bobbie is survived by her 7 children - Don DeGeare (wife Mary), Vicki Hall, Mike DeGeare, Joe DeGeare (wife Denise), Carrie Lynn Scott, Keith Glover (wife Karen), Shawnna Nay (husband Ron); siblings - JoAnne Gretencord, Hank Hannigan, Margaret Mahnke, and Steve Mahnke; along with 23 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, Bobbie spent many hours donating her time and gifts to local animal rescues. Bobbie had a huge love for animals and was a steadfast advocate for their proper treatment. We met in 2007 while I was running the dog walking program at the animal shelter in Auburn. She wanted to join the volunteer dog walking team. We had an instant connection, as our love of dogs brought us together. We walked the dogs together several times a week and I was constantly amazed at her dedication to the dogs. And her stamina! At 69 years of age, she ran circle around volunteers half her age!

Together, we saved many dogs from the shelter, by co-fostering. The foster dogs stayed with me at my home in Auburn and Bobbie would come over during the day and walk them while I was at work. Eventually, those dogs got adopted and we'd move on to the next dog. It was a great arrangement, and our friendship grew.

Years later, I moved to Rocklin, be we remained friends. We "chatted" often and I'd come visit when I could. During those visits, Ken would fix us tea, so Bobbie and I could visit. After Ken passed, Bobbie and I would sometimes go out for lunch or just out for coffee and pie. Those visits and our work with the dogs are some of my best memories.

Bobbie was a remarkable woman, one of the strongest I've ever known. She was tenacious, with an unwavering faith and the kindest heart. I miss you, my dear friend. Bless your sweet and kind heart.

My mom Jane and my dad David were best friends with Bobbie and Ken and I grew with them always being there like a second set parents to love. I certainly loved Bobbie like a mother and she always treated me like a daughter. Our families were always close and my heart is with them all as they go through this sad time. Bobbie and I always kept in contact and I will greatly miss our chats on Facebook. I love you Bobbie Jean, rest in peace.
