Danielle Hopton

Fort Collins - Danielle Hopton was born in June, 2002 in Southern California, and lived in San Clemente and Temecula, before moving to Fort Collins CO in 2013. She passed away on February 7, 2021, when she was only 18.

Danielle was beautiful inside and out. She was a quiet, kind, and gentle soul, who always preferred listening to others, rather than talking about herself. She grew up participating in many activities and sports, like writing, traveling (especially to a warm beach), hiking, water and snow skiing, swimming, horseback riding, golfing, and playing tennis for Fossil Ridge High School. She enjoyed many years volunteering for Larimer Humane Society and helping her Dad raise a few puppies for Guide Dogs for the Blind, and just recently decided she wanted to be an elementary school teacher, like her Mom. She loved working full time at Cafe Rio and was enrolled at Front Range. Danielle always cared deeply about every living creature, especially those who are disadvantaged. She thought she could change one person at a time to make the world a better place, but sadly, she was too naive to understand you can not change every person.

Danielle was a registered organ donor and thought everyone should do something to help society, so if you are looking for ideas, please give your time or money to your local abused women's shelter, your local animal shelter, Guide Dogs for the Blind, or any other good cause you are passionate about. You all make a difference. Each one of you. One person at a time.

Danielle was preceded in death by her Grandpa Fred, and is survived by Dad Brent, Mom Justine, brother Parker, and her grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and 2 shelter dogs.

During this Covid pandemic and cold weather, we have not planned a memorial yet, but when it warms up, we will plan a date for an outside memorial. Please keep your mask on and distance to reduce Covid numbers. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your love and support, and may God Bless you and your loved ones.

Im so very sorry for your loss of your beautiful daughter........She was such a sweet girl...im so glad I got to see her a few months before and have nice lunch with her when she was visiting her grandma Dody..... In the time that I had the privilege to know Danielle, she had one of the biggest hearts that I have ever met. After inviting my sister and I into her family, she became one of my favorite human beings to be around. We would laugh about anything and wouldn’t stop for hours. We love you Dani, and I hope that whatever you are that you have found peace and that you are safe. We will spend all our time to remember your huge heart and vibrant smile. Even though I am much older and a dad, I have kids your age. You could have been my daughter! I have two of them. I know your are in Heaven looking down at us all, and wish you all of God's Blessings! You didn't deserve to have your Life cut so short, but we all never know what God has planned for us. Dear Danielle,

I read about you in the news. In the short time you walked this Earth you touched the hearts of many and you have left behind a legacy of kindness and love for all living that will be forever cherished by your family, friends and loved ones.

I never got to meet you, I do not even live in the U.S. However, by dropping a few lines I wanted your family to know that even in faraway lands we got to know about you and your gentle soul.

Dear Danielle,

We met at the Animal Shelter and it instantly clicked. I was looking for a Cat to help us catch Rats at our company. I am saddened to hear of your untimely demise, but I am glad to hear you kept loving Animals until your Death.
