So handsome, so witty. Gone from our lives way too soon. I miss that sly grin.

A half-grin, a little grunt, a big smile--all part of Mike Irvin who left us way too early. I remember you fondly and am thankful for the wonderful years that you and Greta spent together.

Dearest Greta, you may not remember me as we have only met briefly on a couple of occasions. I am one of Joyces adoptees... To say the least, I have known Micheal through Joyce and meeting him at several family events over the last 16 years. I know how much he meant to his family, to Joyce and Michele. I prey the Lord gives you strength and eases the pain of your loss quickly. I prey the love he had for you and his family sustains you all the days of your life. You are not alone. In this family, there is no such word. My deepest condolences and may the Lord carry you until you are strong enough again.

Dearest Greta,

Michael departed us way too early; way too young, and your loss squeezes my heart. I'm so sorry for this heavy loss and ask that our Lord walk with you and your family. We will be out of town on Friday, but you will be foremost in our thoughts and prayers.

Mike was not only a wonderful colleague to work with at Putnam Elementary, he was a great teacher and friend for years to come.
Mike was one of the first staff members I met when I started at Putnam. Maybe that had something to do with me being not only the new office manager but his wife's replacement! Those were some big shoes to fill but Greta made me feel comfortable and my transition seamless. Mike also made me feel right at home with his smile and warm greeting.
Mike reminded me of the "big guy on campus" which of course he was not just for his heighth but because our school was only Kindergarten through 4th grade. I don't remember students in the principals office from his classroom very often. Or maybe I should say he was the "gentle giant" as both descriptions suit him well.

Our condolences to the family. We know he will be missed immensely and his smile & laugh will be in our hearts forever!
Greta, there are no words we can say to convey the deep sorrow we feel for you with the loss of Mike. We love you and our prayers are continuous.

I was one of Mr. Irvin's students 4th grade at Putnam, sad to hear of his passing. One teacher I have never forgotten. I'm sorry for the families loss!

I am saddened by this news...Mr.Irvin was a teacher I will never forget. I am 41 years old now. He taught me, and both of my younger brothers at Putnam. He was so enthusiastic and cared about all of us. Funny how you look back and realize what teachers made an impact on you for the rest of your life...and he was one of them. He left his mark and I will never forget that.. RIP Mr. Irvin. You were one of the best. I wish there were more teachers like you for my children....Always, Carrie Blanco
