Harold Boyer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Goes Funeral Care & Crematory - Fort Collins on Mar. 13, 2026.
Harold Eugene Boyer, born on September 18, 1933, in Palmyra, Missouri, went peacefully to his heavenly home with Jesus on March 10, 2026, at home in Severance, Colorado. He was 92 years old.

Harold was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Boyer, his mother, Clara ( Hagaman) Boyer, his brothers Leslie and Glenn, and his sisters Carolyn and Marjorie, and his granddaughter Jessica Weyer. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Verna (Inkster) and children David, Susan, and Judy. He has 16 living grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Harold delighted in his kids, his grandkids and his great grandkids. He will be dearly missed.

Harold grew up in Palmyra, Missouri. He went to the University of Missouri for two years, and then served in the US Army during the Korean conflict, where he attained the rank of SP4 and was an instructor for Company A at the Southeastern Signal School at Camp Gordon, Georgia. Harold enjoyed and excelled in many sports over his lifetime. While he was in the Army, he also played on their softball team and received commendations for his excellent play. After he was honorably discharged from the Army, he finished his Accounting degree in 1958. He cut his teeth as an accountant at Price Waterhouse in St. Louis, then in 1962, became the Director of Internal Auditing for the University of Missouri-Columbia, where he retired in 1998.

While in Columbia, Harold served as an elder in the Lutheran church and led many Bible studies over the years. He was credited with over 30 years of perfect attendance in the Cosmo Breakfast Club. His favorite project with the Cosmos was administrating the Youth Football League, which he did for over 30 years. He dedicated so much time to that endeavor, they named one of the football fields after him. He was an excellent pitcher for the church's softball team and was an avid table tennis player, as well.

In 2004, he and his wife moved to Fort Collins, Colorado, where they attended Redeemer Lutheran Church. He also served as treasurer for the Golden Kiwanis Club. He enjoyed his time as a discussion leader for the Senior Center's "Donut Make You Wonder" group, and as a knowledgeable CPA he volunteered countless hours helping seniors with their tax preparations every year.

Harold will be remembered for his infectious walk with Jesus, his dedication to family, and the joy he exuded through his gentle spirit. "Well done, good and faithful servant. Enter into the joy of your Lord." (Matt 25:21)

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Harold, may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church for the Comfort Dog ministry or international missions.

The Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30am on Friday, March 27, 2026 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 7755 Greenstone Trail, Ft Collins, CO. The Interment Service with Military honors and a light luncheon will immediately follow.
