Hutch and I were friends in Kansas City Missouri back in the 90s. We spent a lot of time fossil hunting around the area special near Parkville Missouri. I still have many of his cartoon he sketched out for me at the restaurant, tell me about the days as a newspaper or magazine cartoonist I believe he said in Switzerland. Hey Hutch was a great guy I thought about him often I just found out today about this passing. And to his daughter who I never met, every time I saw him he mentioned you. He was a great guy.

I was so sad to hear the news. I will remember best the twinkle in your dad's eyes each time I saw him, as well as his keen intellect. He was a wonderful and interesting conversationalist and I enjoyed each time I had the opportunity to speak with him because I always learned something. And your dad's sense of humor was ever-present, making the conversation even more fun. I know this is a profound loss but you are right - he most assuredly lives on through all of you.
Sending love and strength your way -

So sad to learn of the passing of my old schoolfriend Hutch.
I had the great pleasure of being a fellow pupil at Great Walstead School and knew him from age eight. We were in the same form and the same football and cricket teams. Well do I remember him providing excellent crosses from his position on the right wing! Even then Stuart had talent and kindness and style.
I also recall meeting both his father and his mother on occasions when they visited our boarding school in Sussex. He was a very good school friend and invariably cheerful and kind. He then at about thirteen years of age left England for America. I lost touch completely until over fifty years later in January 2000 a letter arrived by a devious route through my four changes of address from America! It was a letter from Stuart written more in hope than expectation - and it reached me! To continue - David Straker
