James Finch Obituary
Surrounded by his family at his Parker home, filled with love and laughter, James Patrick Finch embarked on his final grand adventure of touring the universe on Monday, March 18, 2024. He was escorted by his furry companions and other family members that have passed. Born at Fitzsimmons Hospital in Denver in April 1965, Jim was proud to be a Colorado native. He enjoyed all that Colorado offered; fishing, camping, skiing and 14er's. He loved taking photos of all the beautiful places here and afar.
Christmas and Halloween were his favorite holidays, but loved anytime that family and friends could get together. From murder mystery parties to casual celebrations, he was always up for throwing a good party. Dancing in clubs, concerts, or at home he would just appreciate the music and the company. He could have a good time anywhere.
He found a passion in fly fishing. ""Lots of fish with sore lips"" was what he would say on a good day of fishing, but he could find his Zen whether he caught anything or not. He enjoyed teaching those who wanted to learn.
He was an author, photographer, architect, musician, mentor, friend, husband, and uncle but his best and most loved job was being a DAD.
He absolutely loved being a dad. He treasured the times of building Legos together. He was excited to see what gifts his children would share with the world.
He was a renaissance man. He lived his life empowered. He took chances in his life. He made his own way. He saw a niche that needed to be filled and he had the vision and confidence to make it work.
Jim is survived by his best friend and mother of his children, Lisa, daughter Tyra, son Garrett, mother, Mary Ann, father, Clifton, sister, Stephanie(Mike), sister, Debbie, sister, Catherine(Chris), aunts and uncles, cousins and many nieces/nephews (quite a few who had deemed him their favorite uncle), grand nieces/nephews, and a few great grand nieces/nephews.
He has gone on to cruise the cosmos, playing his guitar, making up lyrics and singing his songs, leaving us with laughter and precious memories.
In lieu of flowers, please do an unexpected act of kindness. Celebrate Jim in your own way…go camping in the mountains, fly fish in some pristine spot, ski on some fresh powder, snorkel/scuba in some beautiful blue water with the marine life, travel to a place you haven't been, explore, create art, engage a stranger in a conversation, listen to a friend, live your life empowered and most importantly, tell your family you love them.
See you Space Cowboy!
