Ronald Lee Hines

1939 - 2023

Ronald Lee Hines, of Parker, Colorado, passed from this earthly life on October 15, 2023. He was born on December 21, 1939, in North Platte, Nebraska to Hazel and Cecil Hines. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Judi, who he called "his love, his friend, and his angel". Ron is also survived by his two brothers, Edwin Hines of Castle Rock, Colorado and William Hines of Parker, Colorado. He is the beloved father of Cindy Bannon (Texas) and Kenny Hines (California) and treasured stepfather of Kelly Jones (Oregon) and Kara Warpness (Colorado). Ron was also blessed with six grandchildren and two great granddaughters.

Ron had always dreamed of being a farmer and enjoyed working on his uncle's farm in North Platte. But his asthma prevented him from realizing that dream when his parents moved to Littleton, Colorado for his health. He graduated from Littleton High School in 1958 and later earned a law enforcement degree from Metropolitan State University in Denver. While Ron did not become a farmer, his love of animals meant he always had a pet whether it was a magpie or many beautiful horses. Ron loved restoring vintage John Deere tractors, flying and anything that had to do with airplanes, music, and reading.

Ron had a full life as a public servant with 43 years in law enforcement, 30 of those years as a Lieutenant for the Littleton Police Department. He was known as a police officer with integrity who was devoted to making his community safe and treating everyone he served with respect and fairness. Ron, we thank you for your service!

Ron will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, and grandparent in addition to being a wonderful friend to all he met during his life's journey. May God grant him peace for eternity.
