Stanley Carter Obituary

Stanley Carter, age 63, of West Columbia, SC, passed away on August 18, 2025 at Lexington Medical Center. Stanley was born on November 12, 1961, to Fletcher and Joanne Carter. He graduated from Lower Richland High School and went on to work as a Plumber with various companies, ending his career at Carolina Pride in Greenwood, SC. He had two sons: Jamie Carter and Roman McCoy as well as two grandchildren. Stanley was known for his quick wit and sense of humor. He loved the Gamecocks and working in his garden. He had many pets, mostly dogs throughout his life. They loved him and he loved them and would follow him anywhere. He spent his last years as a caregiver to his father and would also faithfully spend precious time visiting with his mother. He was a person who, if he had nothing else to give, he would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. His last act of giving was the grandest of all. As an Organ Donor, he gave so that others could potentially have a second chance at life. Stanley is survived by his mother and father, a sister, three brothers, nieces and nephews, his two sons and grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on August 28, 2025, at 1:00pm at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1201 Mohawk Drive, West Columbia, SC 29169. Visitation with the family will also be on the 28th from 12:00pm to 1:00pm at the church.
