Rebeca DeLeon Obituary

Rebeca Lucio De Leon, 75

Rebeca Lucio De Leon

January 12, 1950 – September 25, 2025

Rebeca Lucio De Leon, 75, passed away peacefully in her home on September 25, 2025. She was born in Valle Hermoso, Tamaulipas, Mexico, to José Lucio and Eustolia Zúñiga, the second of ten children.

From a young age, Rebeca showed a love of learning and a strong sense of responsibility. She developed a passion for reading and was always eager to learn about the world around her. She began working at a young age to help support her family, and her intelligence and dedication were evident in all that she did. Later, she pursued her calling to ministry and attended the Magdiel Bible Institute in Matamoros, Tamaulipas.

Rebeca went on to serve as a pastor in Los Ramones, Nuevo León, at Templo Poder de lo Alto, and later in Congregación Hidalgo at Templo Siloé. It was there that she met a woman who would change the course of her life. The woman believed Rebeca would be the perfect match for her son, setting in motion a unique and heartfelt courtship carried out entirely through letters exchanged over several months until they finally met in person.

Rebeca married Noé De Leon on August 25, 1979, in Monterrey, Nuevo León, and soon after began their life together in Moses Lake, Washington, where they built their home, family, and faith.

In Moses Lake, Rebeca continued her calling in ministry as an active member of El Sendero de la Cruz Church and as an ordained minister with the Northwest Hispanic District of the Assemblies of God. She also worked as a childcare provider for more than 20 years, lovingly caring for many children. In 2010, she became the pastor ofTemplo Abarim in Hermiston, Oregon, where she faithfully served for ten years until her retirement in 2020.

Rebeca was a woman of deep faith, compassion, and strength. She touched countless lives through her ministry, her kindness, and her quiet example of devotion and perseverance. She had a gentle spirit, a generous heart, and a deep love for her family. She also had a lifelong love of music and was rarely without a song in her heart. She was always singing and taught herself to play multiple musical instruments, using her talents to bring joy and worship to those around her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Noé De Leon, and four brothers. She is survived by her three children, Noé Jr. (Aida), Cesar, and Amelia, and by her five grandchildren-Gadiel, Eliseo, Gabriel, Amaia, and Adrian-who brought her great joy. She is also survived by her brother, four sisters, and many nieces, nephews, and loved ones who will remember her with love and gratitude.

Rebeca's life was a reflection of her faith-filled with service, love, and dedication to God and those around her. Her legacy will live on in the many lives she touched and in the example she set through her unwavering belief and compassion.

A memorial service will be held at Bethel Assembly of God Church in Othello, Washington, on October 11, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., with her final resting place at Guarding Angels Cemetery in Moses Lake.
