David Renaud Obituary

DAVID JOSEPH RENAUD
January 2, 1954 ˜ September 24, 2025

David Joseph Renaud was born January 2, 1954 in Glens Falls, New York. He passed away at home unexpectedly on September 24, 2025 at the age of 71, with his wife Janet by his side.

Dave was the son of the late Frances Alice (Durling) Renaud and Verner Joseph Renaud, Jr. He was a beloved husband, brother, uncle, great-uncle, and friend. He is survived by his wife Janet Nace; brother Daniel Renaud; and sisters and brothers-in-law Nancy and Eric Rush, and Debra and Clint Hill. He was predeceased by his sister Karen McCart. He is also survived by his nephew Justin Fogarty; his nieces and their husbands Megan and Matt Rubin, and Kayla and Jonathan Stoll; his great-nieces Hailey, Natalie, and Lillian; and other family and friends.

Dave grew up in Glens Falls and Queensbury, NY, and spent many summers in Long Valley, NJ. He went to Colgate University in New York for one semester, then finished his Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Studies at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, FL. He learned to fly from his father as a teenager, and while at Embry-Riddle, he earned his commercial pilot certificate.

He spent much of his career at Florida Power and Light, where he was well respected and made many friends. After retiring, he moved to a beautiful rural area in southwest Washington State.

Dave had a lifelong love for animals, and met his future wife Janet while volunteering at an animal sanctuary. They enjoyed 15 happy years of marriage. He also loved nature, and spent many hours volunteering at state and county parks.

Music was an important part of his life. He had encyclopedic knowledge of the Beatles (and several other classic rock bands), and probably heard everything they ever recorded, from practice sessions to concerts.

Dave lived every day with kindness, decency, and integrity. He had an offbeat sense of humor, and he would do anything for a friend. He will be dearly missed.
