Janice Mason Obituary

JANICE ANN MASON
March 13, 1940 ˜ July 8, 2023

Born on March 13, 1940, in Lubbock, TX, to William and Janice Howell, went to be with the Father on July 8, 2023. She was a 1958 graduate of Ramona High School in Riverside, CA. She married Richard Mason on Aug. 30, 1958, in Riverside, CA. They lived in Omaha, NE, while Richard served in the Air Force. They had three children together; Rick (1964-2020), Ron (1966-1993), and Sheri (1970). The family moved to Vancouver, WA, the summer of 1976. Janice worked as a bank teller, clerk at Rohr Aircraft, and a daycare provider for many years in the 70’s and 80’s. She taught piano, sang in the church choir, loved to bowl on bowling leagues every week, and escape to Reno/Tahoe once in a while, as she always seemed to have the magic touch with slot machines. She also loved to do puzzles and write letters to everyone she knew. She was known by friends and family for her angelic presence and a full heart of love, which outwardly shown to those around her. She is survived by her husband, Richard; daughter, Sheri (Sidney); four grandsons, Taylor (Melissa), Ronnie (Bekah), Sidney (Briana), Theodore; and seven great-grandchildren, all of Vancouver. Memorial service will be held Aug. 5, at 2 p.m. at Mill Plain United Methodist Church.

I am sure her family and friends will miss her dearly. She was always pleasant and kind in the interactions I was fortunate enough to have with her. My condolences to her husband Richard and her daughter Sheri and to all the family and friends she has left behind.

Maureen and I remember sharing the lanes at Crosley´s with Jan and Richard. She was a kind and quiet person, with a warm and ready smile. And, every session, she would sift through the quarters used in the weekly card game, looking for those minted in 1964...the year her son was born.
Our condolences to Richard and the rest of her family.

Loved her memory. If you asked who someone was, Ann would tell you their life history and have their photo. All sweet and goodness.
