Robert W. Roesler, 92, passed away Wed., June 15, 2016 at Kaiser Sunnyside Medical Center, in Clackamas, OR. He was born March 22, 1924 in Minneapolis, MN to Fred and Ione Roesler. As a child of 8 years, Bob and his family moved from Minnesota to Vancouver, WA. He attended and graduated from Ft. Vancouver High School.
Following high school, Bob joined the war effort by enlisting in the Navy. He spent 2 years in the service, and upon his return home he attended the University of Washington, where he earned a Bachelor's of Science.
Bob worked as an electronic engineer for Bonneville Power Administration, eventually retiring, after many decades of faithful service.
He was a member of Toast Masters and AmVets and was very involved in the leadership of his church, First Christian Church in Vancouver. In his spare time, Bob ran a radio and TV repair business, and he enjoyed doing carpentry and travel.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Margaret Mary "Peggy" Myers and son-in-law, Ed Myers; grandchildren, Mary Myers, Joseph Myers, Gregory Myers, Robert Myers, Peter Myers, and Tamra Tiong; grandson-in-law, Jeremy Foran; great-grandchildren, Hope and Grace; and his foster family, April, Richard, Dustin, and Tami Stanley.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ethel: daughter, Chris McLeod; grandson, Paul Myers; and granddaughter, Deatra Foran.
A memorial service for Bob will be 3:00 p.m., Mon., June 20th at the Vancouver Funeral Chapel, 110 E. 12th St., Vancouver, WA 98660. Private inurnment will take place at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, OR.
