Sheila PENDLETON-ORME Obituary

SHEILA PENDLETON-ORME
March 18, 1951 ˜ December 29,
2025

Sheila Pendleton-Orme, aged 74, passed away on December 29, 2025, in Vancouver, Washington. Born on March 18, 1951, Sheila lived a life marked by her deep spirituality and love for the natural world.
Sheila retired from the Department of Ecology, where she dedicated herself to nurturing the environment she cherished so deeply. Her commitment to nature extended into her personal life, where she found joy in tending to her flower garden and greenhouse. Sheila’s love for animals was profound; she owned horses, dogs, and cats, and spent countless hours riding her horses and walking her beloved dog, Bella, at Lewisville Park.
A creative soul, Sheila also enjoyed crafting jewelry and cards, activities that allowed her to express her artistic side. Additionally, she was known for her competitive spirit, especially during dice games with her husband, Jeff, where she frequently claimed victory.
Sheila’s family was central to her life. She is survived by her husband, Jeff; her brother, Michael Pendleton and his wife, Julie; and her son, Justin Heldt and his wife, Rebecca. She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Eleanor Pendleton.
A celebration of life gathering for Sheila will be held at Lewisville Park to be announced at a later date. Sheila’s legacy is one of love, spirit, and connection to the earth and all its creatures. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.

I worked with her at Clark County for a few years and am just shocked reading she has passed.

I learned so many things from Sheila just by watching her and seeing her tend to her garden and train the bevy of animals in her care.
I fell in love often with her horses and admired her so much for her ability to have so much patience in their training and care.
She was more than a sister-in-law. She was my friend and she will be sorely missed.

Deepest condolences to my brother Jeff, and to the extended family.
Sheila certainly was one of a kind. I´ll miss the card and dice games and laughing until we were crying about nothing at all!
