SCHUYLER -- Bob Mefford, 69, of Schuyler, died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015, at the CHI Alegent Hospital in Schuyler.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, at Kracl Funeral Chapel in Schuyler with Jerry L. Kracl the speaker. Military honors will immediately follow service. Lunch will be served in the St. Augustine's Parish Hall.
Visitation will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, Kracl Funeral Chapel.
Memorials may be sent to family wishes.
Robert Harold Mefford was born January 30, 1945, in Greeley to Harold and Catherine (Cannon) Mefford. The family moved to Schuyler in the early '60s. Bob served in the United States Army from 1965-1967 and in the Army Reserves until 1971. He worked for Western Alfalfa and was an electrician for Schuyler Electric for over 30 years. Bob was a member of the American Legion.
He enjoyed stock car racing, bowling, gardening and tinkering in his shop.
Bob is survived by his special friend, Cheryl Harter of Schuyler; five sons, Robert (Lorie) Mefford of Weare, New Hampshire, Dana Sliva , Fremont, Michael Mefford, Fremont, Gary Mefford, Schuyler and Brandon (Becky) Harter of Fullerton; daughter, Melinda (Moe) Jeffcoat of Columbus; six brothers, Edward (Janette) Mefford, Lincoln, Jack (Sherrill) Mefford, Papillion, Don Mefford and special friend Kathy Divis, Fremont, Tom Mefford, Paul (Vicki) Mefford, all of Schuyler and Jerry Mefford of Columbus; three sisters, Mary Koci of Columbus, Jeanette (Sally Knutson) Mefford of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Rita Ebel of David City; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers-in-law, Ed Koci and Merle Ebel.
