ST. EDWARD - Cletus L. Werner, 66, of St. Edward, died Thursday, April 29, 2010, at Boone County Health Center in Albion.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at St. Edward Catholic Church in St. Edward with the Rev. Jim Novotny officiating. Burial will be at St. Edward Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. today at the church with a 7 p.m. wake service. Visitation will resume at 1 p.m. Monday at the church.

Cletus L. Werner, the son of Peter and Esther (Arlt) Werner, was born Feb. 26, 1944, at St. Edward. Clete was baptized and confirmed at the St. Edward Catholic Church in St. Edward. He attended school at Boone County School District #59 and graduated from St. Edward High School in 1962.
On April 30, 1966, Cletus was united marriage to Catherine Wozny at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Fullerton. The couple lived and farmed east of St. Edward. In 1992 they moved to St. Edward. Clete drove trucks for Werner Trucking for 12 years. He enjoyed working with and riding horses, along with playing cards and spending time with his grandkids.
Clete was a member of the St. Edward Catholic Church in St. Edward.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine, of St. Edward; five children: Patrick and wife, Diana, of St. Edward; Ann Hadenfeldt and husband, Monty, of Doniphan; Elizabeth Czarnick and husband, Allan, of St. Edward; Peter Werner and wife, Sara, of St. Edward; and Alan Werner and friend, Lori, of St. Edward; 17 grandchildren; two sisters: Carolee Werner of Parump, Nev.; Wilma Reitz and husband, John, of Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.; one brother Clifford Jaixen and wife, Norma, of Columbus; along with many other relatives and friends.
Clete was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Julie Stevens.
