Craig Czarnick, 46, of Silver Creek, died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2019, at his home in Silver Creek.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 16, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Silver Creek. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 15, St. Lawrence Church, with a 6 p.m. vigil service, also at St. Lawrence. Interment will be at Ss. Peter and Paul-Krakow cemetery. The family requests casual dress for the funeral.
Craig Czarnick was born Nov. 6, 1973, in Columbus, to Harlon and Katherine (Adkisson) Czarnick. He graduated from Silver Creek High School in 1992, then received his associate degree in building construction from Southeast Community College-Milford in 1994. He married Shauna (Czarnick) Czarnick at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church-Krakow on July 12, 1997. To this union, three children were born. In lieu of plants and flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
Craig began his interest in building construction in his teen years helping his parents with home improvement and addition projects and shop class in high school. After college, he worked construction in Lincoln for two years, then moved to Silver Creek to work for Ed Cerny Construction. Throughout his career he also worked for Grosch Irrigation, Wetovick Construction, Wilcox-Holm Construction, Atlantic Homes, John Moore Construction, and ended his career in the Maintenance Department at the Columbus Community Hospital.
Craig joined the Silver Creek Volunteer Fire Department in September of 1996. He was also a member of the Sons of the American Legion. Craig was an avid hunter, a member of the NRA, and a Boy Scout. Other hobbies included camping, fishing, and he loved hosting family and friends in his "Dream Shop".
Craig was a wonderful supporter of his family. He was respected for his "Do it right the first time" work ethic. He was one that you could always rely on to help out.
Craig is survived by wife, Shauna Czarnick of Silver Creek; daughter, Shayla Marie Czarnick of Lincoln; son, Seth David Czarnick of Silver Creek; son, Haden Frank Czarnick of Silver Creek; parents, Harlon and Kathy Czarnick of Silver Creek; brother, James (Jennifer) Czarnick of Silver Creek; grandmother, Louise Czarnick of Silver Creek; mother-in-law, Sharon Czarnick of Genoa; eight brothers- and sisters-in law; 37 nieces and nephews; three great-nieces and nephews; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; his dog, Kajoe and cat, Izzy.
He is preceded in death by infant daughter; grandparents, Frank Czarnick, Richard and Viola Adkisson; father-in-law, Stanley Czarnick.
