Dale Anderson Obituary

Dale Richard Anderson

August 28, 1948 - November 27, 2024

Dale was born August 28, 1948, in Columbus, Neb., and was the third of five children. He lived a full life until November 27, 2024, at his home in Shelton, Wash.

Dale attended Columbus high school and St. John's Military Academy. Dale joined the Army at the young age of 17. He became a paratrooper and finished his sixth year of enlistment in Korea, where he married and had two children, Barbara and Andrew.

He was a very skilled machinist which included fabricating wing assemblies for Boeing's 747 Jumbo Jets. Closer to retirement, he enjoyed instructing and driving 18 wheel trucks.

Of his special interest, Dale enjoyed collecting coins, sporting style guns, fishing, making fine furniture and gardening. As a youngster he had a strong desire to restore Ford Model "T"s and Model "A"s but it never came to fruition.

Dale is survived by his brother, Alan Anderson (Elizabeth) of Long Beach, Wash.; sister, DaVida Jaqua (Jeff) of Parker, S.D.; brother, Richard Runge (Kimberly) of Bothell, Wash.; granddaughter, Nichole; numerous nieces, nephews; and his beloved dog, Jake, who truly brought him joy.

Dale was preceded in death by his son, Andrew; father, Allen Anderson; mother, Rosa Lee Runge; and his sister, Janice Anderson Hayek.

Funeral services will be held in Columbus, Neb. at a later date.
