Dorothy Matulka
July 25, 1925 – November 5, 2023
Dorothy Marie (Mancheski) Matulka was born on July 25, 1925, in Denmark, Wisconsin, to Stanley and Mary Ann (Holda) Mancheski and died Nov. 5, 2023, at the Papillion Manor in Papillion, Nebraska, at the age of 98. Dorothy had nine siblings: Gertrude Rabas, Leonard, Donald, Anne Steinfeldt, Jean Schoen, Edwin, Felix, Lawrence and Ferdinand.
Dorothy married Edward (Ed) Joseph Matulka on Oct. 1, 1949, in Pine Grove, Wisconsin, and moved to a farm near Dwight, Nebraska. The couple had a son and three daughters.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ed Matulka; son, Gregory E. Matulka Sr.; son-in-law, W. Scott Lund; grandchildren, Gregory E. Matulka Jr., Sherry Matulka and Lesley Lund; and her siblings.
She is survived by daughters, Mari Matulka-Sidzyik (John) of Bellevue, Dolly Lund-Collins (Paul) of Canistota, South Dakota, Betsy Bridgeford (Joe) of Omaha; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Lawrence Mancheski of Denmark, Wisconsin.
Visitation with the family receiving friends from 9 a.m. – 9:30 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 11, 2023, at Assumption Catholic Church, Dwight, followed by a rosary at 9:30 a.m.
Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 11, 2023, at Assumption Catholic Church with Father Kenneth Borowiak celebrating Mass.
Graveside and Interment will follow at Assumption Catholic Cemetery, Dwight. Memorial contributions may be made to Masses or Assumption Catholic Altar Society.
