Elizabeth "Betty" Kush age 77, of Silver Creek died Thursday, August 29, 2024, at Brookestone Acres in Columbus.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Silver Creek. Visitation is Tuesday 5-7 p.m. There will be a 7:00 p.m. vigil service all at the church. Visitation will continue Wednesday morning 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Elizabeth was born February 21, 1947, in Genoa to Alex and Mary (Yrkoski) Kula. She received her early education at Krakow and graduated from Silver Creek High School. She was married to Rich Kush on October 11, 1969, at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Krakow. They lived in Snyder before returning to Silver Creek where they owned and operated the Silver Creek Locker. After her retirement she worked at Nied's Grocery and the C Store in Silver Creek. She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and the Altar Society where she served as an officer. She was also an active member of The American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed cards, walking, gardening and camping.
She is survived by: husband: Rich Kush; sisters: Emily Bialas, Ellie Zulkoski and Eugenia Ferris; brothers: Eugene (Geri) Kula and Edwin Kula and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Alex and Mary Kula, brother: Edward Kula, sisters: Esther Bolton, Edna Kula and Elaine Paczosa,
