Emil Bouc, age 92, of Columbus, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday April 9, 2025.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 14, 2025, at St. Isidore Catholic Church. Visitation is Sunday 4 to 6 p.m. There will be a 6 p.m. vigil service all at St. Isidore Catholic Church. Visitation will continue Monday morning 9:30 a.m. until service time. Interment with military honors by The American Legion Hartman Post #84 Honor Guard will be in the All Saints Cemetery.

In lieu of plants and flowers, memorials are suggested.

Emil Bouc was born March 28, 1933, in Valparaiso, Neb., the son of Emil F. and Antoinette (Machacek) Bouc. He attended North Star Grade School near Valparaiso through the eighth grade and graduated from Valparaiso High School in 1950. Emil married Karol Joyce Polak on September 9, 1958, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Agnew, Neb.

Emil retired from the City of Columbus Street Department on November 1, 1991 after 20 years of service. Prior to that, he was employed as a State Scale Officer with the State of Nebraska from November 1957 to May 1971. Emil joined the Naval Reserves in 1951, then served active duty in the U.S. Navy aboard the Destroyer U.S.S. Robert H. McCard during the Korean Conflict from March 30, 1953 to March 20, 1955. Emil was a founding member of the St. Isidore Catholic Church, a member of The American Legion Hartman Post #84 and a life member of the VFW Post #3704 of Columbus. Emil enjoyed his family, hunting, fishing, golfing and woodworking.

Emil is survived by his wife, Karol; daughters, Janelle (Keith) Kline and Connie (Russ) Ita of Columbus; and sons, Ron (Jan) Bouc and Kevin (Janet) Bouc of Columbus; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Mary Ann Bouc of Lincoln

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Antoinette Bouc; brother, Albert Bouc; brother-in-law, DeRoyce Polak; sister-in-law, Beverly Polak; and grandson, Ryan Bouc.
