Ethel Reha, 89, of David City, died Thursday, June 5, 2025, at the Butler County Healthcare Center in David City.

Mass of Christian Burial - Tuesday, June 10, 2024, 10 a.m., at St. Peter Catholic Church, Bellwood, The Rev. Stephen Graeve, Celebrant.

Visitation - Monday, June 9, 2025, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., with a 7 p.m., Rosary all at the church.

Committal in the Bellwood Cemetery. Lunch following Committal in the church hall.

Ethel Colleen Reha was born July 10, 1935, in Bellwood, Nebraska, to Merrill L. and Gertrude A. (Weyan) Sylvester. She attended school in Bellwood and graduated from Bellwood High School in 1953. On February 10, 1954, Ethel was united in marriage to Edward A. Reha in Bellwood, Nebraska. Three children, Russell, Larry and Connie were born to this union. Ethel had worked at the Bellwood Elementary School as a cook and also cooked at the Bellwood Bar. She also worked 20 years as a nurses aide at David Place (Brookstone) in David City, working the 11 to 7 shift. After retiring from David Place she enjoyed working for the David City/Bellwood public schools system doing clerical work, para work and taking gate at numerous sporting events. She loved visiting with people and always greeted everyone with a smile. While at David Place she was president of the resident council. She enjoyed outings with family and friends which included card playing, visiting with friends in Bellwood Bar, board games, reading books, crafts and holidays.

Ethel is survived by her son, Larry Reha; daughter Connie (Gary) Janicek; daughter-in-law, Carol Reha; grandchildren, Christopher (Katrina) Reha, Curtis (Lacey) Reha, Cole (Channing) Reha, Craig (Christine) Reha, Mikala (Peter) Ray, Jared Janicek; and great-grandchildren, Ryder, Kyler, Cohen, Grayson, Griffin, Rhett, Wrenly, Ellis and Miles. Also survived by John and Eldeen Kabourek, Mary Ann and Bill Birkel, Connie Fiala; many nieces, nephews, cousins; and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Edward; brother, Merrill D. Sylvester; son, Russell Reha; and granddaughter, Sarah Jo Reha.
