Gary Jazwick Obituary

ORION, Ill. - Gary L. Jazwick, 68, of Orion, Ill., died Sunday, Aug. 23, 2009, in Trinity Pathway Hospice at Terrace Park, Bettendorf, Iowa.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church in Coal Valley. Burial is in Coal Valley Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4 -7 p.m. Thursday at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center in Coal Valley, beginning with a 4 p.m. Wake Service.

Gary Leo Jazwick was born Dec. 8, 1940, in Platte Center, the son of Paul and Helen (Shotoski) Jazwick. He served in the U. S. Army and the National Guard. He married Bonnie Gronenthal on Nov. 9, 1963, in Platte Center. He was a welder at John Deere Harvester Works in East Moline for 30 years, retiring in 1996. He was a member of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church and a former member of the UAW. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed snow mobiling and restoring old cars.

Gary is survived by his wife, Bonnie; four daughters and sons-in-law, Shiela and Eric Francis of Geneseo, Ill., Sherry and Michael Taube of Coal Valley, Debbie and Brian Kiel of Davenport, Iowa, and Denise and Steve Burwinkel of Bettendorf; eight grandchildren, Matt and Ashley Francis, Courtney and Logan Taube, Austin and Brandt Kiel, and Douglas and Colin Burwinkel; seven sisters, and one brother.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
