Marvin D. Werkmeister

December 1, 1932 - June 30, 2025

Funeral services for Marvin Werkmeister, age 92, of Tilden, Neb. will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tilden. Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Brockhaus-Harlan Funeral Home in Tilden.

Marvin died Monday, June 30, 2025, at Norfolk Veterans Home in Norfolk, Neb.

Born in Winner, S.D., in 1932, he grew up in rural Nebraska and served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War, achieving the rank of Sergeant.

He married Virginia Bratten in 1956 and worked at Dale Electronics before settling on a farm near Tilden in 1967. Marvin was active in his church, the VFW, and co-founded the Northeast Nebraska Marine Corps Ball. He was a proud veteran, farmer, storyteller, and family man who cherished travel, dancing, and community.

He is survived by his children, Eric, Neil (Cindy), and Sandy; grandchildren, Jacob (Traci), Rory, and Lacy (Nick); five great-grandchildren; and siblings, Darold, Don, and Judy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ginny; his parents; and grandson, Jesse.
