PILGER - Memorial services for Michael Dean "Mike" Mazuch, 66, of Pilger, will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 25, at Heartland Baptist Church of Norfolk.
Pastor Rick Bradley will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Home for Funerals is in charge of the arrangements.
Mike died unexpectedly on Friday, April 21, 2017, at his home.
Mike was born on March 20, 1951, in Norfolk, the son of William and Mabel (Janies) Mazuch. He was raised on the family farm southwest of Madison. He attended rural school prior to graduating from Madison High School in 1969. He continued his education at University of Nebraska-Lincoln earning his bachelor's degree in 1974.
On Sept. 27, 1974, Mike married his high school sweetheart, Vicki Deets. The couple lived in Omaha for a year before returning to Madison. They resided in Madison until 2003 when they moved to Pilger.
Mike was employed at Jaco Enterprises before beginning his career with Bayer in their crop division. He retired a year and a half ago.
He enjoyed working with his clients. Mike had a love of the outdoors, fishing, hunting and caring for his lawn. He was a great conversationalist and story teller. However, his passion was for his family. He had great pride in his children. He will be greatly missed by his family.
Mike is survived by his mother, Mabel; wife, Vicki of 42 years; their children and spouses, Aaron and Wendy Mazuch of Omaha, Barry Mazuch of New Orleans, Mark and Tina Mazuch of Norfolk and Grant and Katelyn Mazuch of Columbus; grandchildren Haleigh, Payten, Jackson and Taylor; step-grandchildren, Jayda, Savannah, Logan and Ireland; and two sisters, Judy and Bob Rung of Lincoln and Teresa and Doug Wagner of Madison.
He was preceded in death by his father.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Michael Dean Mazuch Memorial Fund.
