Patricia "Patsy" A. (Albin) Sabatka

Patricia "Patsy" A. (Albin) Sabatka, 88, of Weston, NE, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, April 21, 2024 at David Place in David City, NE. She was born September 27, 1935 in Brainard, NE, the tenth of twelve children, to Francis "Pete" and Anne (Novacek) Albin. Patsy attended Holy Trinity Catholic Grade School in Brainard, NE and she graduated from Dwight Assumption High School in Dwight, NE. On June 1, 1957, Patsy was united in marriage to Stanley A. Sabatka at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Brainard, NE.
Through the years, Patsy worked at Blue Star Plant in Wahoo, Hakel's Restaurant in Weston, Haven House, Hinky Dinky (Sun Mart) and the Wahoo Bakery. She was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Weston where she was active in the PCCW, Rosary Sodality and the St. John Choir. She was a charter member of the Catholic Daughters of America #1956 where she served as a past vice-regent and recording secretary. She was also a ProLife volunteer and a member of the Green Acres Extension Club.
Patsy enjoyed baking kolaches, cinnamon rolls and apple strudel. She loved gardening and working with her husband, Stanley, and children daily on the farm.
She is survived by children, Diane (Ron) Matulka of Valparaiso, NE, Melvin Sabatka of Weston, NE, Don (Nanette) Sabatka of Weston, NE, Donna (Kevin) Grant of Wahoo, NE and Bill (Hauli) Sabatka of Hastings, NE; grandchildren, Ron (Ashley) Matulka of Ceresco, NE, Samantha (Andy) Costa of Lincoln, NE, Douglass (Jordan) Matulka of Lincoln, NE, Wyatt (Destiny) Matulka of Lincoln, NE, Asia (Jeremy) Haack of York, NE, Jesse Sabatka of Weston, NE, Skye (Paul) Rezac of Valparaiso, NE, Lindsey Sabatka of Weston, NE, Justin (fiancé, Maria Salerno) Sabatka of Weston, NE, Anthony Sabatka of Hastings, NE , Ryann Sabatka of Hastings, NE and Andrej Sabatka of Hastings, NE; nine great-grandchildren; brother, John (Darlene) Albin; sister, Therese (Don) Schneider; sister-in-law, Gail Albin; many other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley A. Sabatka; parents, Francis and Anne Albin; parents-in-law, Mathew and Helen Sabatka; brothers, James (Marie) Albin and Leon Albin; sisters, Rita (Leo) Zitek, Sr. Pauline Albin (Sisters of Loretto), Marie (Carl) Bailey, Margaret Albin, Mary Albin, Lorraine (Albert) Firley and Lois (John) Huse.
Mass of Christian Burial, Monday (4/29/2024) 10:30 a.m. at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, 130 Front St., Weston, NE.
Concelebrants, Rev. Matthew Vandewalle, Rev. Charles Townsend and Rev. Thomas Brouillette.
Visitation, Sunday (4/28/2024) 5-7 p.m. with 7 p.m. Rosary at Svoboda Funeral Home, Wahoo, NE.
Interment at Znojemsky Cemetery, Weston, NE.
