COLUMBUS - Patricia J. Thiele, 73, of Columbus, died Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2002, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lincoln.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Columbus with the Rev. Tom Weisbecker officiating. Burial will be at St. Bonaventure Cemetery in Columbus.
Visitation will be 3-5 p.m. today at McKown Funeral Home in Columbus after 6 p.m. at the church with a 7 p.m. vigil today at the church. Visitation will continue on Friday from 8-10 a.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Thiele was born May 22, 1929, in Columbus to Frank and Thelma (Ebel) Kerr. She received her early education in Butler County before graduating from St. Bonaventure High School in 1946. She worked for the J. C. Penney store.
She married Wilbert L. Thiele on Nov. 27, 1950, at Columbus. The couple farmed near Clearwater until 1960 when they moved back to Columbus. Along with raising her large family, she worked for Dale Electronics.
She was a member of the church, St. Bonaventure Guild and Scotus Mothers.
Survivors include four sons, Terry (Patsy) Thiele of Columbus, Patrick (Debra) Thiele of Duluth, Ga., Tony (Stephanie) Thiele of Missouri Valley, Iowa, and Dick (Tonya) Thiele of Omaha; five daughters, Connie (Dan) Evans of Ogallala, Peggy (Dave) Wolff and Jackie (Chuck) Kula, all of Columbus, Nancy (Jim) Pieper of Dodge and Judy (Alan) Calta of Lincoln; one daughter-in-law, Diane Thiele of Omaha and one son-in-law, Dave Johnson of Omaha; two sisters, Virginia (Dean) Horner of Sioux City, Iowa, and Kathy (Clarence) Scholl of Plattsmouth and one sister-in-law, Jeanne Kerr of Arpharetta, Ga.; 19 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one son, Harold Thiele; one daughter, Sherri Johnson; two brothers, Gene Kerr and Frank Kerr, Jr., and one grandson.
