Sharon....in her own words.....
Sharon Ann Eilers was born May 31, 1952, to John "Jack" Rhinehart Eilers and Goldie Mamie Peterson Eilers at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Norfolk. She was raised in Octavia, attending District 17 grade school and was a 1970 graduate of David City High School.
She moved to Lincoln to live with her sister, Pat and her three sons. This decision was the best one dad ever made. It was best for Sharon also for she learned much from Pat, and it gave foundation for a wonderful relationship between Sharon and her three Wenzl nephews, and their families.
She held jobs with a variety of companies including Love Library at UNL, Behlen Manufacturing, Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Nebraska, Land O'Lakes (now Cargill Meat Solutions) in Schuyler, the Last Chance Bar, Danish Brotherhood in America, King Louie Rose Bowl, St. Joseph Center for Mental Health, Camp Fire Boys and Girls Club Pioneer Council, Saint Paul United Methodist Church, in Lincoln, and other part-time positions. At each location she made friends and many of those relationships continued throughout her life.
Sharon had also volunteered for Tony Raimondo's senate campaign in 2008, Bryan LGH Hospital in Lincoln and most recently served as a volunteer at Columbus Community Hospital. She was a former member of the American Business Women of America and AA for many years.
I leave behind my sisters, LaVonne Stone, of Columbus, Patricia (Gus) Strauss, of Lincoln; three brothers, Vern (Marilyn) Eilers, of Schuyler, Roger (Betty) Eilers, of Grand Island, and Bob Eilers, of Fremont; many nieces and nephews, friends and all AA members I met through the years. You all have a special place in my heart.
I was preceded in death by my parents, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends and AA members.
