Sharon was born August 2, 1941, in Columbus, Nebraska, to Clyde and Emily (Karel) Kratochvil. She married her high school sweetheart, Willard Went, on July 6, 1958, and together they shared nearly 67 years of love. They made their home in Creston, where they raised four children and built a family-centered life of faith.
Sharon was the heart of the home and the life of the party. She had many talents-kolache baker, wedding cake maker, seamstress, gardener, and host to many. She loved to entertain and always made sure everyone felt welcome and cared for.
She had a creative spirit and a servant's heart. From card games, neighborhood volleyball and badminton matches, bingo and bobbing for apples with her grandkids, Sharon brought fun, warmth, and energy to everything she did. She never met a stranger and never missed a chance to celebrate life's big and small moments.
Sharon worked in several roles throughout her life-from homemaker to becoming a Certified Financial Planner-but no matter what she was doing, she gave it her all. She was fully present, deeply kind, and endlessly encouraging.
She loved to travel and explore-taking trips to Colorado, Alaska, Florida, Jamaica, California wine country, and beyond-but her favorite place was wherever her family was.
Sharon's greatest joy was her family. She was a loving wife, a proud mom of four, a devoted grandma to thirteen, and a great-grandma to twenty-five. Due to Alzheimer's, she missed so many precious moments these past eighteen years that she would have adored.
Her faith was strong and steady. She was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church and later St. John Lutheran Church.
Sharon was welcomed into heaven by Jesus, her "special guy" and forever dance partner husband, Willard; her parents; and her grandson, Taylor Went.
