Susan Galyen Obituary
December 14, 1955 - June 14, 2025
Memorial services for Susan Marie Galyen, age 69, of Columbus, Nebraska will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 23, 2025, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tilden, Nebraska. Reverend Chad Boggs will officiate.
Brockhaus-Harlan Funeral Home in Tilden is in charge of arrangements.
Susan died Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Stanton Health Center in Stanton, Nebraska.
Susan Marie Galyen, daughter of Arthur and Mildred (Hoefer) Remmereid, was born December 14, 1955, at Albion, Nebraska. She attended country school in the North and South Branch area, Albion Public Schools, and graduated from Tilden High School in 1974. Susan then attended Northeast Community College and Wayne State College. On September 1, 1974, she was united in marriage to Robert Galyen at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tilden.
Susan lived in several places throughout her lifetime including Oakdale, Meadow Grove, Tilden, and Tulsa, Oklahoma. She lived in Neligh for 14 years, and most recently had resided in Columbus since November of 2001.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tilden. Susan was also a member of several tax associations. She enjoyed camping in her younger days and loved traveling. She had visited California, North Carolina, Virginia, Texas, and South Dakota.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Galyen of Columbus; father, Arthur "Art" Remmereid of Tilden; brother, Steve (Janice) Remmereid of Tilden; sister, Sally (Larry) Lehman of Norfolk; and several nieces and nephews.
Susan was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Remmereid; and sister, Sharon Remmereid.
