Susan (Sue) Marie Mcbride

March 9, 1962 - May 12, 2025

Susan (Sue) Mcbride, 63 passed away May 12, 2025 at Lemay Avenue Health & Rehab Facility in Fort Collins, Colorado. She was born in Schuyler NE on March 9, 1962 to Larry and Marlene Svoboda, the first of three children. Sue graduated from Scotus Central Catholic High School in 1980. Then went on to receive her bachelor's degree from Kearney State College, (University of Nebraska Kearney). After college Sue moved to Colorado, worked as an interior designer and was marred to Doug Mcbride. Later divorced and started her career where she worked at the University of Colorado Health as the Regional Director of Medical Staff Services for 33 years.

Sue enjoyed baking and could whip up some delicious and beautiful cupcakes and cakes. With her love for sweets came her love for the gym and outdoor activities like hiking, golfing and going for long walks. She also enjoyed watching and talking about the latest football game.

Sue is preceded in death by her grandparents, Rudy and Helen Marik, Longin and Iida Svoboda. She is survived by her parents Larry and Marlene, brother Tom (Brenda) of Schuyler, and sister Sheri Kochanowicz of Nebraska City, nieces and nephews Shane (Heather), Sara (Nick), Heidi (Cory), Stephanie (Spencer), Diego, Step nephew Gary (Amber), Chelsea, Bret (Melissa), Tanner and girlfriend (Emma) and great nieces and nephews and many friends. Services are pending. Memorials in memory of Sue may be sent to St Bonaventure's Elementary School and Scotus Central Catholic High School.

So many memories of Sue! Late night rides, drinking Diet Pepsi, eating corn-nuts, making nachos in her parents kitchen! Listening to music, talking about boys and life! So.. many more! So many wonderful Childhood memories all the way thru high school! Tho I lost touch with Sue over the years I have always held a special place for her in my heart Fly High Sue!!

Sue--you left us way too soon...
33 years guiding the PVH and then UCHealth (North) Medical Staff Office seems like a long time on paper, but in reality it passed in a flash. I will miss your mischievous corner-of-the-mouth grin and associated giggle...your skillful diplomacy...your unwavering discretion...your encyclopedic knowledge of all things "medical staff"--the rules, the laws, the players. You leave us with a large void in our hearts. Rest peacefully...
