It is with much sadness, we announce the passing of our dear Claire Louise Froh, on July 27, 2025. She had battled cancer for almost 2 years, always looking on the bright side and going forward. Claire was born on Feb. 21, 1950, to George F. & Violet V. Manhart at Colusa Hospital. Claire was just short of her third birthday, when her father George passed away. Later, her mom Violet married Swen A. Sorensen, and together raised six children, followed by the birth of Rose Anne. Claire attended Williams schools graduating from Williams High School in 1968. She married Robert C. Froh on Aug. 15, 1970, beginning life in Grimes, followed by the birth of son, Charles E. Froh on Jan. 6, 1974. In 1977-78, Claire started working for Davison Drug in Colusa, then moving to Fouch & Son Pharmacy in Williams, where she would spend the next 38 years before cancer forced her to retire. She enjoyed her job very much, serving the customers, always doing what she could to help them choose the right item, ordering what she thought would sell good for the store or just answering a question. Claire enjoyed growing up on the farm, riding bikes, family vacations, animals, dogs, cats - always loving a new stray, baseball with her siblings, card & board games in the winter. Chores we had assigned for our weekly allowance. She was a long time 4-H Member (a fun and learning time) showing lambs at the fair, along with cooking and sewing projects, summer camps, 4-H All Star for Colusa County. She attended Parkside United Methodist Church at a young age, becoming a member in the 60's, attended Sunday School, acted in Christmas plays, youth groups and continued through the ears to support her church. For PUMC Chicken Barrel BBQ, the last several years to current, Claire took charge of the money-making raffle table, with sister's Violet's help, that brought lots of smiles and laughter to all. She loved her Church family. Claire was always so grateful to be a part of 7 siblings who kept close to one another for over 70 years, till losing sister Opal on Feb. 1, 2025. She had a special bond with Opal as they both were battling cancer. Many times, she and all of us said how blessed we all are. Claire loved her grandkids and spending time with them, nieces and nephews, and the great nieces and nephews, graduations, fair show and sale days, loved trips to the ocean for the beauty and peacefulness it gave her, crocheting items for anybody - throws, caps, blankets, cell phone holders while you shop. She made several lap throws for CJ LaGrande's son, while he was battling cancer, so he could give to other children at the hospital in Sacramento. She cherished all the family gatherings for any occasion, the Christmas Name Drawing us siblings still choose to do. So many memories to hold dear. She is survived by son, Charles E. Froh of Grimes. Grandchildren Robert J. Froh of Klamath Falls, OR, and James D. Froh of Grimes. Also, brothers Charles F. Manhart of Arbuckle, John F. Manhart (Marge) of Williams. Sisters Ruby & Dan Gobec of Camino, Violet G. Silva of Woodland, and Rose Anne Sorensen of Arbuckle. Brother-in-law James P. Murphy of Yuba City, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins in Denmark from Father Swen, who Claire was blessed to have met from their visits here to the ranch. Special family friend Kathy Spooner who attended family gatherings and then religiously offered to drive Claire to treatments and appointments, more than not. Sister Violet also helped. Claire was so thankful. She is proceeded in death by sister Opal V. Murphy, fathers George F. Manhart and Swen A. Sorensen, mom Violet V. Sorensen, ex-husband Robert C. Froh, father and mother in-laws Ted Froh and Geraldine Bright, brother in-laws Teddy Froh, Joe V. Silva, and Robert W. Bailey. We will forever and always remember Claire's kindness, love for others, sharing her crochet items with us, her presence and work for her church and the love she had for her family. She so appreciated her family, and friends support through this cancer endeavor. She will be in our minds and hearts forever. Heaven gained another angel to look over us all. A funeral was held at Parkside United Methodist Church, 936 G Street, Williams, CA 95987 at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 14, 2025. Buriel will be in Arbuckle Cemetery in Arbuckle, CA.
