Wendy Jones Obituary

Jones passed away on the morning of August 14th surrounded by her loving family. She died from complications of a kidney transplant done in November 2024 at Stanford Medical Center. Wendy was born on July 26th, 1971 and had just turned 54. Wendy was a legal secretary throughout her working years and most recently worked for Abbott & Kindermann, Inc. Wendy had a gentle loving heart. She was brave and courageous through all of her various medical procedures since her heart transplant in Dec. of 2020. She always had a positive attitude. Her son, Jacob, was the love of her life and motivated her to push forward so she could be here for him. She lived long enough to see him get engaged. She loved spending time with her family and just recently attended the Grob family reunion in July. She especially cherished the time she was able to be with her close friends, Dawn and Michelle. She loved going to the movies and eating out. While Wendy was growing up, she enjoyed her summers with her cousins – Debra, Kathryn, Lori, and Christine – when they would come and stay with Grandma. They would spend many hours in the pool along with her sister and brother. Wendy enjoyed watching her sister and brother grow up and become responsible, caring adults. Wendy was especially fond of animals and loved her horses and riding when she was growing up and continued to ride when she could into adulthood. She had hoped that some day she would be able to ride more after recovering from her transplants, but God had other plans for her. She was a true animal lover and continued to follow horse ranches and dogs on Instagram. Wendy was loved dearly by her family and friends. She suffered so much during her life with her different health issues but enjoyed every minute she could. We know that she is at peace now, but she will be missed tremendously. Wendy is survived by her son Jacob and his fiancé Emma Brentt, her mother Barbara Genera, sister Diana (Jeff) Mitchell, brother Gino Genera and nephews Ben and Max Mitchell. She is survived by her aunts: Dolores (Dan) Biesecker, Carmen (Junior) Gomez, Mary Genera, Delia Genera, Cynthia Genera, Alesia Genera, and Carol Genera. She is survived by uncles Louie Grob, Sam (Lolly) Genera, Jesus (Pam) Genera, Fernando (Nina) Genera, Ray Genera, and Leo Genera. She is also survived by numerous cousins. She was proceeded in death by her father Art Gino Genera, Grandparents Louie and Wanda Grob and Samuel and Ninfa Genera, aunts Louise Bridges, Rachel Lozano, and Evelia Genera, uncles Vic Bridges, Carlos Genera, and Ruben Genera. The family appreciates the care given to Wendy at Davita Home Dialysis Center in Carmichael and many nurses and doctors at Stanford Hospital.
