For some reason I started calling him Weaves and to this day, I don't remember the reason. I suspect it was because there were so many David's in my life at the time. He would come into the athletic training room just to say hey and see how things were. I don't ever recall an injury Weaves had dealt with, but he always wanted to see us. Weaves was a light in every storm. He put a smile on my face daily. And even after he graduated, I cherished our phone calls even when they got less and less often. My prayers are with you and the family during this tragic time.

I transferred to ECS my senior year. I didn´t know anyone. I was in a sea of people who have grown up together. Your son was one of those who really reached out to me. I would eat alone in the gym for lunch, he would eat with me, he would hang out with me before I had practice. He always went out of his way to share a friendship with me, despite my being new and a minority. I just wanted you to know, your son was very kind to me, and after being a collegiate athlete and graduate, I remember him to this day.

I am extremely sorry for your loss.

My heart is breaking for you. I cannot imagine the emptiness you are feeling. The thought of David´s not being here is overwhelming. You and your husband are in ours prayers. God will take care of you in the coming days and forever.
