Thank you Jimmy for coming into my life and providing me with your words of wisdom to follow my dreams. I appreciate your kind words, thoughts, and you for being a good friend. Although we have known each other less than a year, our friendship seems as if it has existed for decades. You're home now and I will still be talking to you Jimmy. Love you my friend.

I met Jimmy in the late 90's our likes allowed us to bond rather than be competitors...God, basketball, style and humor. Jimmy enjoyed conversation and laughter. To the family may you rest in the fact that he knew God and tried to live his life accordingly. His death reminds us all of the urgency of "now" to get and maintain a relationship with God.

My husband and I met Jimmy in the early 90s. We attended the Crenshaw Church of Christ in Los Angeles together. He needed a place to stay for a few months before he went over seas playing basketball and he stayed with us. He was pleasant and respectful and he could eat!!! LOL. We have a 19 year old son now..so it brings back memories of those days when a tall young man lived with us. Jimmy recently reached out to me and we conversed a bit. He was planning to come to the Bay Area for a visit. We are saddened by this news.

Jimmy had an infectious laugh, a loving spirit, and a passion for life. He loved basketball and he loved the Word of God. I met him 20 years ago at the Boulevard Church of Christ. He was energetic, and fun to be around. Jimmy and I would hang out and talk about the Word; the fact that he became a preacher never surprised me. I am going to miss him; he was a great person to be around.

I met Jimmy when he was a student attending Crichton College. I was responsible for taking care of his educational investment. He would always come to my office and sit with me for a couple of hours on regular basis. He really confided in me and I would encourage him as he would do the same for me. McClain family I know that you are missing an angel however, GOD has brought him back home to be with him. As for the mother I want you to know that your son loved christ and he is in a better place, God will keep you and comfort you and the family during these times. Nikola

Jimmy and I were college sweethearts during our days at the University of Arkansas at Monticello. To my surprise, Spring 2012, I answered my cell phone and the voice on the other end said, Hi Sherri, this is Jimmy McClain. We reconnected and rekindled our friendship. The things that I will remember most about Jimmy is his tall, dark and handsome physique, his seriousness for life and his impeccable sense of fashion. The brother always looked like he stepped right off the cover of GQ Magazine. Whenever I was in Memphis, he loved for us to eat at his favorite restaurant Bahama Breeze. He always ordered the chicken wings with the special sauce, a salad and the black bean soup. My heart is broken right now, but I know that Jimmy is in a better place. Until we meet again my friend.
