NEW HARTFORD - Peter Scialdone, 81, passed away on January 13, 2021 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare.
He was born in Schenectady, on March 29, 1939, the son of the late Peter I. and Gertrude Rosenson Scialdone and was a graduate of Proctor High School.
Peter proudly served his country with the U.S. Marine Corps and on July 2, 1959 was united in marriage with Beverly Frey, a loving union of 52 years, until her death on July 6, 2011.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a salesman for Associated Linen, Utica and later, for Robinson and Smith, Gloversville.
A devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Peter is survived by his children- his daughter and son-in-law; Rebecca and Anthony Rappa, his sons and daughters-in-law, Peter J., III and Laurie Scialdone and David and Manik Scialdone; his grandchildren, Peter J. Scialdone, IV, Jason Scialdone, Justin Scialdone, Lexi Hansen, Paige Rappa, Zoe Scialdone and Dominic Scialdone; and his great-grandchildren, Astrid Hansen and Peytrah and Liliana Scialdone. He also had a special lifelong friendship with Doug and Carmela Smith, of Utica.
There will be a Roman Catholic memorial service when it is safe for family and friends to gather.
