Dr. Johnson and Family,

I am so grateful and consider myself blessed to be among those who had the privileged opportunity to meet and know such a great soul - Mr. Matt.

Mr. Matt seemed to have never met a stranger. When I first met him, he talked with me as if he had known me for years. His was a kind and generous spirit; a person who once you met him, you would not soon forget him. His humility made everyone who met him feel comfortable and at ease in his presence. Dr. Johnson, I will miss talking on the phone with you and having Mr. Matt join the conversation in the background. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

Words don't seem adequate during these times of transition, so I pray that the love of family and friends, near and far, provide you with strength and comfort during the challenging days ahead.

With my most heartfelt sympathy,

Frank Hill

Dear Dr. Carol & Family,
The first day we met you and Bro. Matthew at Charles St. Church you became a part of our family. God tends to put a select few of his Angels on earth to walk among us, and Bro. Matthew was one of them. His life was a gift from God and the path Bro. Matthew let his life take was truly a gift back to God. Our Charles St. Family and our family are better for having known Bro. Matthew. He was a GENTLEMAN and a GENTLE MAN. Thank you so much for sharing Bro. Matthew with us.

Love,
Mother Ruth Williams & Family
