PATRICK O'SULLIVAN Obituary

Dr. Patrick J. O'Sullivan (Paddy) passed away peacefully at his home in the presence of his loving family on October 17, 2010. He was born in Dublin, Ireland March 17, 1939. After earning his medical degree from University College Dublin, he came to the U.S., completing his residency in Rochester, New York. Service in the U.S. Army followed in 1969. He and his family moved to Memphis in 1972 when he joined the faculty at University of Tennessee Medical School. As a dedicated neurologist, Dr. O'Sullivan practiced at Semmes-Murphy clinic, prior to becoming a partner in the Neurology Clinic, where he practiced until his retirement in 2008. After retiring, Dr. O'Sullivan volunteered his services at the Church Health Center. He is survived by his wife Catherine (Cathy), daughters, Eimir and Deirdre, and son Brian, as well as son-in-law Rick Jurczyk. He is also survived by his four sisters in Ireland - Adelaide, Maeve, Florence, and Mary. The family plans a private memorial. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Church Health Center.

Dr. O'Sullivan was my neurologist, and he was a very caring and compassionate doctor. He always took his time with me, and he always made sure I was well taken care of. I really missed him after he retired. My deepest sympathies go out to his family at this time.

Dear Cathy, Eimir, Deirdre and Brian,
Please know how much we feel for you at this time. We too have such fond memories of Paddy -- a nicer guy we never, ever knew. We would love to see you sometime.
With deepest sympathy and love,
Marie and Bill Huntington
