To the family of J. Michael I send my sympathy. J. Michael was always a warm and funny guy. I only met him once in person but talked to him many times on Saturday mornings. He was the voice of reason on the "What's on Your Mind" show and kept us laughing. He seemed to really care about the community and helped out when anyone called in need. Although I no longer live in Memphis, I still called on Saturday's. He will truly be missed and could never be replaced.

This morning on my way to work, I tuned in as usual on 1070 WDIA All Blues Saturday,and I'm really not a blues fan , just loved to hear Jaye,to my surprise,they were playing a tape of Jaye and Rufus.It was as if they were still here.On this day that we celebrate Jaye's Homegoing celebration,I pray for all the the families involved . May God continue to comfort you through this difficult time.It is not for us to ask why,but Praise and Thank God for the time that he allowed us to share such a witty, caring, concerned and loving man.It truely must be wonderful to leave this earth during one of the things you enjoy during most, couple with being with the one you love. Jaye Michael was my neighbor and friend. He was the DJ at my 40th Birthday Party. I was planning on asking him to DJ at my retirement party. I have to pass his house everyday going to work. When I saw him in the yard mowing his lawn, I would blow my horn, he would look up and flash that million dollar smile and wave. I am going to Miss him.
