Arnold Stetson Obituary
Elkins, NH - Arnold "Stet" E. Stetson, 90, of Wilmot Center Road, died Sunday, July 13, 2025 at his home.
He was born in East Andover, NH on December 30, 1934 the son of Richard F. and Martha (Crewe) Stetson.
He moved to New London in 1941 from Newport, NH and graduated from New London High School in 1954. Arnold served in the US Navy from 1956-1960. He was employed by several local businesses including Kidder Garage as a mechanic, Heath and Lull, the Newport Chevrolet Dealership and retired from Warner Power Co. in 1999.
Stet liked racing cars in Claremont, NH and enjoyed New London and Naval History. He was a genealogist, liked backroad riding, mowing, gardening and flowers. He always enjoyed finding someone who could talk local history with him.
He is predeceased by a half sister, Mary Barbara Grover. Arnold is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marion "Honey" (Cushing) Stetson of Elkins, NH; two children, Scott A. Stetson (Betsy Follansbee) and Suzanne Stetson (Sumer Ammann) both of Keene, NH; two grandchildren, Tyler S. Stetson and Ann C. Stetson; half siblings, Tom Niles, William Stetson, Beverly Stetson and Carol Stetson; nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Chadwick Funeral Home, 235 Main Street, New London, NH on Saturday, July 19, 2025 from 11:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. A private burial will be held in Elkins Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
