Dr Donovan was Chair of Surgery and later VP of Health at U South Alabama when I was a student. Now, 45 years later, I vividly recall him teaching me about hyperparathyroidism. What an amazing surgeon who inspired all of us. While I went into IM many of my classmates became marvelous surgeons because of him. He lives on in all of us!

The 2018-2019 Ventura County Grand Jury fondly remembers our colleague Art. As Chair of the Editorial Committee, Art's imprint will be forever present in the Consolidated Final Report of the 2016-2017 Ventura County Grand Jury. We salute Art and send condolences to his friends and family.

Dear Rachel, John, Colleen, Dylan, Brian and Katherine, Idell and I offer our sympathy to you on the loss of my godfather who was deeply loved by his family of Donovan's and Pillsbury's and of course many others, the Owen's, and the list goes on. I am so glad I had a nice conversation with him a couple weeks ago and the last thing he said was, "Give my love to Idell." I just spoke with a cousin Dan Donovan who was is in the line of Patrick Donovan's family which Art and I thought were distant relatives and Dan was able to show us a will that described Patrick as being a brother, not a cousin, of our line of Michael Donovans. Anyway we are thinking of you and praying for you and for the repose of our dear Arthur's soul. Love to all. Idell and John
